Jailbreakers Found a Major Flaw in R1's Code

A significant security vulnerability has been discovered in the codebase of Rabbit, the company behind the R1 AI gadget. This latest incident raises serious concerns about the company's data security practices and adds to the growing list of issues plaguing the much-hyped device.

  • Developers and researchers known as "Rabbitude" found hardcoded API keys in Rabbit's codebase, potentially exposing sensitive information

  • The exposed keys granted access to Rabbit's accounts with third-party services, including ElevenLabs (text-to-speech) and SendGrid (email)

  • Rabbitude claims it informed Rabbit over a month ago, but the company initially failed to secure the information

This security breach comes at a challenging time for Rabbit, as the R1 has already faced criticism for underwhelming performance and features since its launch. As the company works to address these issues, rebuilding public trust may prove to be an uphill battle, especially in light of this serious security lapse.
