How to Upload and Analyze PDFs with Claude AI

Claude’s new Visual PDFs feature, currently in beta, lets you analyze PDFs, including text, images, graphs, and charts. Here’s how:

Log into your Claude account.
Select your initials in the lower-left corner and choose “Feature Preview.” Toggle on Visual PDF Analysis to enable it.
Start a new chat, tap the paperclip icon, upload your PDF, and wait for the file’s thumbnail to appear. Then type your question or request and submit it.

Note:

Use the page numbers shown in your PDF viewer, not those printed in the document.
The PDF must be under 32 MB and 100 pages, and cannot be encrypted or password-protected.
For larger files, split them into smaller sections and upload separately.
