How to Build Personalized 'Gems': Google’s Counterpart to GPTs
Similar to ChatGPT's custom GPTs, Google's Gems allows you to create personalized versions of Gemini, with the added benefit of integrating tools like YouTube, Drive, and Maps.
Follow these instructions:
First, log in to Gemini. This feature is available to Gemini Advanced (paid) users.
Select ‘Gem Manager’ from the bottom left corner, then choose ‘New Gem.’ Name your Gem and enter your instructions. If you need help refining them, use the 'Magic Pencil' icon for suggestions.
Before saving, utilize the preview panel to the right of the instruction window to test your Gem's responses.
Once satisfied, choose ‘Save’ in the top right corner. Your Gems will be listed in the left sidebar. For full functionality, enable the relevant extensions in settings, located in the bottom left corner.
