Apple has suspended its AI-powered notification summaries for news and entertainment apps after backlash over inaccuracies, including a misreported story about the UnitedHealthcare CEO murder case, where the AI wrongly claimed the suspect shot himself.

The feature will be disabled in iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, and macOS Sequoia 15.3 developer previews, with plans to re-enable after refinements
All notification summaries will appear in italics, and users can disable them for specific apps directly from the Lock Screen
Apple will clearly label the feature as beta in Settings, warning users about potential errors
A public beta is expected next week, but the general release date for iOS 18.3 is still unannounced. The company plans to clarify that summary text is generated by Apple Intelligence.
